Keith was born and raised in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. Having a family history in the fire service, he started his career with the City of Temple Terrace as a Firefighter. Over the years, Keith was promoted through the ranks eventually being appointed to Fire Chief in May of 2007. Keith has a diverse background in emergency services including time as an Instructor, Inspector, Flight Paramedic, Fire Marshal, CFAI Accreditation Peer Assessor and Interim City Manager. Throughout his career, Temple Terrace Fire Department became an internationally accredited agency with an ISO classification of 1.
In April 2016, he retired from the Temple Terrace Fire Department after accepting the position of President & CEO at Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. Ten-8 Fire Equipment, Inc. is a major United States distributor of emergency apparatus and equipment. Ten-8 is based out of Bradenton, FL with locations throughout Florida and Georgia. Ten-8 was started over 30 years ago with foundational principals rooted in faith, integrity and service.
Keith is a graduate of Hillsborough Community College with an Associate of Science Degree in Fire Science Technology and an Associate of Science Degree in Emergency Medical Services. He continued his education at the University of Cincinnati where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire and Safety Engineering Technology. He earned his post graduate education at the University of Phoenix where he obtained a Masters Degree in Organizational Management. Keith was designated as Chief Fire Officer (CFO) in May of 2008 and designated as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in July of 2011 by the Commission on Professional Credentialing. Keith was also conferred Member status in the Institute of Fire Engineers in February 2011.
