Food Drive In Honduras

Due to the Coronavirus, many of us here in the U.S., for the first time in our lives, came to appreciate what it’s like to need food and other essential household supplies and not be able to access them.

Recent estimates for global poverty are that 8.6% of the world, or 736 million people, live in extreme poverty on $1.90 or less a day, according to the World Bank.

The people of Honduras were already battling food shortages when Covid struck, making it even more challenging to feed and protect themselves and their families.

The Sofia Foundation sprung into action when the opportunity arose to donate pallets of food to some of the hardest hit areas.

In total, we were able to provide food and other essential items to more than 500 individuals and families.

What a blessing to be able to help others!
